In most of the govt colleges there is no course related to CSE. So its better have a private college list.

You are IT student. CSE/IT person not eligible for Communication systems.
Even though CSE/IT persons eligible for other department courses like VLSI,Embedded systems etc etc...., Switching to other department courses will create many problems in your career. So its better not to switch. Dont take other department courses just for the college name.
Your score and rank is good. But the Competition in your CSE/IT branches is heavy.
Around 130 seats available for CSE people in CSE+MIT. For BCM this is only 5 seats. If your luck favors you can get MIT.

1)All your mentioned courses are other department courses.
ECE students are eligible for other department courses like mechatronics,biotechnology,remote sensing,it.
Even if you got these courses in NIT's & IIT's, its better not to take those courses that are not related to your UG course.
It will create many problems in your career. Probably in all your interviews you may have to face this questions, "Why you switch to this course?". You need to give very strong reason to convince the interviewers. So its not good to take these course.
2)Probably there wont be much competition in these courses.so you can get.

INDUSTRIAL ENGG ( open to all ) & ENERGY ENGINEERING ( EEE & Mech ) are basically for mechanical engineers. Other dept candidates dont take that...or else you will lose your career n hav to face a tough time in interviews...Moreover only guys frm mech alone in these courses are placed.

If u dont trust me, do see the syllabus of these courses u cant find more than 10 % of your subjects.
Example : do you advanced thermodynamics, reliablity models,inventory,planning & shop floor control,fuels,fuels,computational fl. dynamics ???????????

dont compromise urselves that you are getting ceg...b wise or else u hav to compromise throughout your life.

I opted for M.E Thermal Engineering in GCT though i had all courses/colleges except Aero in MIT n design in CEG since GCT is nearby my home.Had Energy/IC/R and AC in CEG, since these courses are branches of Thermal I selected the parent.I had industrial too but as i gonna do MBA i left that.
