jagadeesh is correct.
Admission through gate is better.
you will get stipend every month (Rs5000 to 8000).
added benefit is your semester fees will be lesser(Rs 3000 to 5000) than tancet category student.
if you got admission in CEG through gate category,you can get ME degree without spending anything from your purse.

You have large probabilities to get PSG and GCt.
all courses in CEG & psg is good.
Requirement for ME candidates in major companies is very less than BE candidates. so its hard to say about placements.

in that booklet they didnt mention the intake of seats by TANCET(NON-GATE) and GATE in CEG(ANNA UNIV),they have simply put A(available) for both categories ,by friends are saying that only seats remaining after GATE cateogry counselling will be filled by TANCET students....IS it true????

In psg n cit there is no full time seat for non gate students. In GCT that course is not available. Oly anna univ have 25 seats in communication system. For OC 6 and for mbc 3

Both courses are good if you did your PG in CEG/MIT/PSG.
Prefer software engineering over multimedia technology.

If you are OC you don't have chance for getting seat in AU.
If your UG department is IT,Give your preference to IT or computer and Communication over CSE.

I have a doubt ..... why in colleges like PSG & CIT no seats has been allotted for Non-gate category? but in previous years students have joined in that college through tancet.
I came to know about many things from you two... adi and SIddhartha Dhanvantri.Very nice conversation. you both are correct. After PG placement is little rare. I just dont know lot for software courses. but for Core branches like Civil , mech ect., they have good scope after M.E only for those who have extrodinary technical skills. After PG lecture job is easily got as you two said. For PG Students the companies expect lot of technical skills from students.Nowadays i see lot of advertisements for "Fire and Safety management"(Certificate Course). Is that a good option for students? What about the scope of that course?
